Memorial Day Weekend 2012

For our Memorial Day weekend, we spent some time at the bay house in Matagorda.  It was actually a lot of fun with the three kids!  Landon got to swim in his pool on the dock, go fishing, play with his friends, and he even went fishing.  He was such a trooper fishing, and was totally into it.  He had his own pole, and would just sit on the side of the boat, drop his bait in, and patiently wait.  But, when it was time to put a new shrimp on, he wouldn't touch it.  HA!  By the end of the trip, he touched one, but that was the first and last time he did that.  He never caught a fish, but his MeMaw did catch a croaker and put it on the end of his pole.  It was SO cute when he reeled it in.

My one mission while we were at the beach was to take some pictures of Reese and Grady in the water.  With Landon, I guess him being my first, I never wanted to get him sandy or possibly salt water in his eyes because they would burn, so this time around, I didn't care...lol  Reese absolutely LOVED it...she just sat in her bumbo and sunbathed, but Grady didn't like it so much.  It was pretty windy so between the wind and the water crashing on his bumbo (just a little bit, not drowning him), he
                                               was not a happy camper.

This was my hair do after my fishing trip!!

WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR FAMILY!!!!!

John 3:16

This is what I live for!!  Landon has been able to say this verse for quite sometime now, and I still cry everytime I hear him recite it.  It just warms our hearts and puts a smile on our faces!  We are so very thankful for such wonderful teachers Landon has (Mrs. Lizanne and Mrs. Heather).  They had been working on this bible verse at school, so Landon and I (and daddy) would practice almost every day here at home.  I am so, so proud of my sweet little boy!  It is amazing how much they can learn at such a young age.  (to hear the video, you will need to mute the music at the bottom)

Easter 2012

This year was the biggest Easter I have had since I was a little girl.  Several family members came in from out of town and it was a fun time of fellowship!  Landon had a blast.  He played SO hard, that he fell asleep eating his dinner at the kitchen table.  It was hilarious.  As for the babies, they slept the entire time we were egg hunting.  They will be full force next year, I'm sure!  We started our weekend out going to the Saturday night service with all of Jimmy's family.  It was so neat.  We literally took up an entire row.  I have put a slide show together on the right sidebar of all the Easter pictures.  Although the weekend was filled with so many fun things, Jacy and I think it is very important that we don't let our children loose sight of what Easter is truly about.  We want our children to know that it is fun to hunt eggs, eat candy, and all the other fun things, but first and foremost Easter is about Jesus, how He died on the cross to forgive our sins, and then rose from the dead!  I can't even fathom a love like this!  Thank you Lord!

Our God is still God and He holds it together!!

These lyrics are in my head today.  I love to sing them when it feels like the roof is caving in.  And that is exactly how I felt about an hour ago.  Thank you, Jesus!  I'm so thankful for you.  I'm so thankful that you live in my heart.  And, I'm so thankful all 3 of my children fell asleep for their nap!!!  I just want to thank you today, for just that, TODAY!  I love you!

Oh, and one more thing...

I'm GONNA BE AN AUNT!!!!  I am still in shock!  Jacy and I got a Fed Ex box on our door step last week.  We knew we didn't order anything and we were dumbfounded where exactly this box could have came from.  It even felt like nothing was in, so we opened it with caution, thinking it was a prank and some animal was probably in it!  As soon as we opened it, colored balloons came out and we found this cute, decorated scrapbook page at the bottom of the box.  It had a sweet sonogram picture of baby holz and said he/she is due on November 3rd!  So exciting and so shocking.  I thought for sure my sister wouldn't have kid for 10 more years...haha  Jacy and I are thrilled and just can't wait to meet sweet baby Holz, and for Landon, Grady and Reese to have cousins!!!!

A friend came to visit...

Yesterday, Landon was jumping on the trampoline and came in to tell me there was something under the trampoline.  He said it was a turtle.  I didn't even know he knew what a turtle was, lol!  We put the turtle in a box and kept him around for about an hour.  Then, Landon said he wanted to let him go find his momma.  It was so sweet.  The next hour we spent watching where he went.  It was fun!

Landon said Mr. Turtle was thirsty and needed some milk..ha
Just some random pictures/videos of the babies.  They have really enjoyed spending time outside lately.

Landon has been very creative in his thinking lately.  This is how he got his cup!

And this is how he went potty outside...oh my!  But, it was hilarious!!

A week of "firsts"

Let me just start off by saying how blessed we are to have these three healthy children, and that God would even consider Jacy and myself to be their parents, is an honor!  We love them more than life itself and I couldn't imagine my life any other way.  I challenge myself each day to not take my life for granted in any way, and to just realize that each breath we take is such a blessing and a gift from God, because we never, ever know when we will take the last one.

This week was a week of firsts for Grady and Reese.  Reese has been laughing for some time now, but Grady started laughing this week.  I am so in love with his laugh!  Grady rolled over for the first time this week and Reese followed behind him rolling over today!  Grady loves making it to his tummy and Reese gets very upset once she has made it to hers.  I am hoping to get a video to share of it.

Landon got a new trampoline this weekend and is absolutely in love!  It is SO cute.  He even jumps on it all by himself.  We love it, because it gives him something to do on his own that he doesn't need "mommy" and "daddy" to do with him, although we have had fun on it ourselves!!  Reese likes to stand up on it, of course me holding her, and Landon bounces her.  It is so cute!  Below are just some random pics I have taken and wanted to share.  We love you all dearly and hope you have a blessed week!

Dear Lord,

As I've laid in bed the last couple of nights, I have gone to God with many prayer requests.  I have had a lot on my mind and a lot of questions for God.  I don't understand this world.  It is so evil sometimes and can just gobble people up in it.  We have been praying for yet another couple that is our friends that God will just work in their lives.  I just don't understand sometimes the decisions people make.  I just don't get it!  I have also recently read a story about a sweet baby and the decisions a family is being faced with before their baby is even born.  Father, I just lift this family up.  I pray that you will be with them day and night every step of the way.  I pray that you will give them strength and wisdom and Lord, that you this precious baby will be a walking miracle to the world!  I have never walked in the shoes what they are going through, but I feel like I can relate in some sense that I was in the hospital with both of my pregnancies and could have possibly delivered way too early.  I know that "fear" and uncertain feeling.  It is so not a good feeling.  Please keep this family in your prayers!  Father you are so mighty, and more than anything be with this amazing family!  Let your light shine!

On a happy note, my 11 year younger brother, Wayne, is a senior this year.  We went to his last home basketball game the other day.  I have a few pics below from it.  They will have their third playoff game this Saturday.  I am SO so proud to call Wayne my brother.  He is such an amazing kid, who Loves the Lord in all he does!  I love you Wayne!

Random thoughts

I have a lot in my head I want to get out and write on the blog before I forget, so this is going to be one random post!  Reese and Grady had their 4 month check up a few weeks ago, and everything was pretty good.  Reese weighed 10lbs. 5.5oz. and Grady weighed 11lbs. 2oz.  They hadn't gained even half a pound over about 5 weeks, so the doctor put both babies on Prevacid to help keep their milk down.  I think it is doing the trick for the most part.

Grady recently had a PT come out to the house, through a program called ECI, to evaluate him to see if he needed a little assistance to help "close the gap" of being a premature baby.  He did qualify, but I actually declined services.  He is showing so much growth each day, and as his mom, I don't feel there is something he needs help with.  The PT told me herself, yes he is behind, but she saw no red flags.  It will just take time for him to "catch up".  I am totally at peace with this.

Reese is trucking along.  I can't walk by her now without her telling me to pick her up...lol  Her and Grady notice each other when they are laying on the floor together, and seriously y'all, they talk back and forth.  I guess there IS such thing as twin talk.  It is the cutest thing ever!!

Neither Grady or Reese is rolling over or sitting up yet, but they are trying so hard.  Grady can roll to his side, and scoot himself just about anywhere, but Reese just turns herself in circles.

Landon is doing awesome!  He is keeping us VERY busy!  He still loves his school and yesterday started clapping when I dropped him out.  I thought to myself, geez, is being at home with us really that bad..haha  He is such a big help!

Below are a few pictures from Valentine's day and a couple random ones.
